Self-Hypnosis to Manage Chronic Pain. Hypnosis isn’t about convincing you that you don’t feel pain; it’s about helping you manage the fear and anxiety you feel related to that pain. It relaxes you, and it redirects your attention from the sensation of pain. In this class, participants will learn what causes chronic pain and how using self-hypnosis can help them find relief from their pain. Hypnosis is a safe, relaxing and inexpensive way to manage chronic pain and has no side effects. It is a perfect complement to other treatment modalities and is especially effective in giving the pain sufferer hope that they can soon feel better. Hypnosis is also very effective in reducing the stress and anxiety that seem to make chronic pain worse. Learning Self-Hypnosis techniques can provide a sense of control and allow pain sufferers to experience the hope that they can soon begin to live the life they want and deserve.
