Calligraphy for Beginners 7/13/2021 1:00 PM - 7/13/2021 2:30 PM
Cancelled
Calligraphy is the design and execution of lettering with a broad tip instrument, brush, or other writing instruments. A contemporary calligraphic practice can be defined as, "the art of giving form to signs in an expressive, harmonious, and skillful manner". Modern calligraphy ranges from functional inscriptions and designs to fine-art pieces where the letters may or may not be readable. Classical calligraphy differs from typography and non-classical hand lettering, though a calligrapher may practice both. Instructor asks for all participants to BRING monoline pens (ie: Alvin Techliner or Micron, size .3), not real ink. This will be much easier to manage, especially for those with little or no experience at all.

Advanced Planning with Dignity Memorial 7/22/2021 1:00 PM - 7/22/2021 2:00 PM
No one wants to think about planning for their own funeral. Many people have done everything they can to protect their family’s future: invested wisely, opened
savings accounts and acquired insurance on their life and home, but they haven’t taken care of their own funeral arrangements—leaving one of the most difficult tasks to their loved ones to figure out at a time of sadness and loss. That’s why it’s so important to give serious thought to your personal wishes and to plan your services in advance. With this in mind join Carla Baker from Dignity Memorial to learn more about such planning while you enjoy some light refreshments. Make sure to check with staff if you would like to reserve a spot for this event.
