Precinct 3 cuts the ribbon on the highly anticipated George H.W. Bush Community Center

The two-story building is Precinct 3’s eighth community center to bring daily activities and events to the public

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – It’s a community center fit for a U.S. president. The George H.W. Bush Community Center is now open as Precinct 3’s first activity hub to join the Cypress Creek Cultural District alongside the Barbara Bush Library, Pearl Fincher Museum, and Collins Park.

With walls adorned with photography detailing the life and legacy of the 41st President of the United States, George Herbert Walker Bush, the 24,500-square-foot, two-story community center features a large community hall, three exercise rooms, a pantry space for catering events, and more. The center’s capacity limit is just over 670.

“This facility is here to give people a place to go and participate in activities together as a community,” said Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom S. Ramsey. “The George H.W. Bush Community Center is a place we take pride in because it’s about family and taking care of one another. Many wonderful things are going to happen here, and we look forward to what is to come.”

Construction began prior to the recent Harris County redistricting with Precinct 3 finalizing the project in June 2023 at a cost of $5.4 million. It is Precinct 3’s eighth community center to provide residents of all ages with a place to gather for educational seminars, fitness classes, group activities, and special events.

The George H.W. Bush Community Center is located at 6827 Cypresswood Drive in Spring. It is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Friday. For more information, visit pct3.com.
