Veterans War Memorial in Collins Park Now Open

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Commissioner Tom S. Ramsey’s Office proudly unveils the Veterans War Memorial at Collins Park, serving as a symbol of America’s honor of members with the Armed Forces who served and sacrificed their lives during times of war.

The memorial features six monuments, a stone wall entryway, the American flag, Texas flag, and the POW/MIA flag that serves as a reminder of every U.S. servicemember whose fate was never accounted for during war times. It was constructed using granite material for the monuments, each standing 8 feet tall and honors the U.S. Army, Marine Corp, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard.

“Men and women throughout our nation’s history have served our country to protect the freedoms we all enjoy to this day,” said Commissioner Ramsey. “It is our civic duty to ensure they are honored and protected here at home. We welcome everyone to visit the Veterans War Memorial, and to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our military veterans.” The memorial is located next to the George H.W. Bush Community Center, as part of the Cypress Creek Cultural District that includes the Barbara Bush Library and the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts. The project began during the third quarter of 2023 and was designed by Clark Condon and constructed by LMC Corporation.

This is Precinct 3’s second Veterans War Memorial to install, having constructed the war memorial at Bear Creek Park in 2005, in what is now located within Precinct 4.

The new Veterans War Memorial at Collins Park is located at 6727 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, Texas 77379.
