Eddie Lanier III “Tre” honored with We Remember Memorial at Harris County Park
HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Harris County Precinct 3, Crime Stoppers of Houston, along with friends and family, recently gathered at Harris County Park to honor the life and memory of Eddie Lanier III, affectionately known as “Tre,” with the dedication of a We Remember Memorial bench and tree.
Tre tragically lost his life in 2022 after being shot in his car, and his case remains unsolved. The We Remember Memorial ceremony brought together loved ones and community leaders to reflect, remember, and stand in solidarity with his family.
“When you pass by this bench, I invite you to pause for a moment, sit with him (Tre), talk to him, reflect on a memory, laugh, a lesson he gave you,” said Tara McFarlin, Tre’s sister. “And if you didn’t know him personally, take a moment to feel the impact of a life so well lived, a life rooted in kindness, strength, and love. Because as long as we continue to speak his name, share his stories, and carry his spirit with us, Tre will always be here.”
The We Remember Memorial initiative raises awareness for victims by creating tributes in their honor throughout Precinct 3 parks. This also encourages visitors to become involved with cases that remain unsolved and to advocate for crime prevention and justice.
“We owe it to Tre’s family and our community to pursue every lead and seek answers about his murder,” said Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey. “This memorial honors his memory but also works with law enforcement and the public to solve this crime. We will not relent until those responsible are held accountable.”
