HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Harris County Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey’s Office, Faulkey Gully Municipal Utility District (MUD), and Malcomson Road Utility District (UD) are leading a major investment in outdoor connectivity and recreation through the Faulkey Gully Hike and Bike Trail, currently in construction.

The $4.7 million project is partnership-funded by Precinct 3, Faulkey Gully MUD, and Malcomson Road UD, and identified in Precinct 3’s award-winning Parks and Trails Master Plan to connect existing recreational amenities and expand opportunities for residents to enjoy the outdoors.

“This is seven years in the making to connect existing trail along Faulkey Gully,” said Michelle Steadman, vice president of the Faulkey Gully MUD. “We’re very excited to finally have this in construction. These neighborhoods are full of families, and we need this additional trail. This is really what MUD and county partners are all about.”

The approximately 1.5-mile asphalt trail loop will run along the north side of Faulkey Gully, connecting Guernsey Drive to Spring Cypress Road. The new trail will also connect with an existing trail within MUD 5, creating greater continuity between existing and new recreational amenities. A new pedestrian bridge will connect the two sides of the trail, provide a safe and convenient crossing, and enhance the overall trail experience. Construction is slated for completion during the first quarter of 2027.

The Faulkey Gully Hike and Bike Trail project emphasizes the importance of community partnerships with Precinct 3 and local utility districts working together to identify priorities, invest in neighborhood amenities, and create recreational opportunities for residents.
