Precinct 3 Announces New Community Center Coming to Tomball Area
HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Harris County Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey is proud to announce a 10th community center that will be in the Tomball area, as part of the community-driven Precinct 3 Parks and Trails Master Plan.
Located at 11603 Hufsmith-Kuykendahl Road, next to Samuel Mathews Park, the 18,000-square-foot facility will expand access to recreation, educational programming, and community spaces that are ADA-accessible. The center will include five activity rooms and classrooms, two large exercise spaces, a conference room, multipurpose room and a kitchen. It will also include 161 parking spaces, a bus loading zone for the precinct’s bus program and direct access to Mathews Park.
With Precinct 3 spanning over 6,800 of lane miles from Cypress to just north of Baytown, the master plan identified the need for this community center in the northern portion of the precinct. It will serve constituents daily by offering an activity schedule similar to that of the other Precinct 3 community centers. Once open, it will replace the reservation-based operations of the existing Mathews Park community building.
The project is currently underway for construction bids, with construction anticipated to begin in early 2027. The estimated project cost is $11.7 million, with the center expected to open in late 2028.
